This may be the car they took to Fort Snelling before their hike.

Sunny and about 32 with N.W. wind.

Got off cross the Minnesota on a railway bridge. Over to town of Mendota. Saw oldest house in Minn. - Hiked up river about 10-12 miles. Re-crossed and ate lunch around fires. I ate one can of beans, 6 slices bread, 2 fried eggs, 2 cookies and i piece journey cake, 1 orange, 1 apple and 1/2 weenie. Monkeyed around for 2 hours. Hiked down Cedar Ave to Lake Amelia and took car home. About 20 mile hike not tire a bit to-night.

Home about 5:15. Wrote a letter to "True" in the eve and to bed.
