Fine and Quiet. I feel H.T.C [Harold Truman Crane] again. Decided to hatch and sell broilers - think I can make $75 or so a month. I'm going to make my own brooders and raise chicks without heat. I cleaned the hen house and started to fix up the incubator.
Drove Mr. and Miss Harner to town and for a ride to Placentia - then brought Ethel home from work. Floyd and I to library in eve.
Thurs. Oct. 7, 1915
Cooler - little fog in A.M. Cleaned hen house some more and fixed incubator. Cut and planted potatoes in afternoon. Drove Miss Harner down. Aunt Ethel has rented an apartment near Santa Fe depot and we all drove down there in the eve to look at it - 2 rooms nice. Floyd and I play H.L.J.Q and to bed.
Fri. Oct. 8, 1915
Fine and Moderate. Worked around. Mother cleaned out some and I noon I took Ethel's thing down. Got my bike in running order. Grandpa, Mr. and Mrs. Harner and I went and looked for eggs for hatch but couldn't find enough of the heavy breeds. I rode down to Floyd's in eve - around town - home. Read in "Quo Vadis" and to bed.
